Key Responsibilities:
Design and Lead Engaging Programs: Plan, develop, and implement a variety of resident-centered activities that cater to diverse interests and needs, ensuring every resident feels valued and included.
Stay Current: Keep up with federal and state regulations, as well as professional standards, to ensure our activities meet the highest quality and safety benchmarks.
Foster Communication: Build strong relationships with residents, families, staff, and external partners to create a cohesive community focused on enhancing the well-being of our residents.
Collaborate for Excellence: Participate in community planning and contribute to facility surveys and quality assurance initiatives, helping to shape a responsive and enriching environment.
Develop Tailored Care Plans: Engage in discharge planning and resident assessments to create personalized activity care plans that support each individual's interests and goals.
Encourage Participation: Inspire residents to pursue hobbies, crafts, and reading, while providing necessary materials, including Braille and audiobooks, to ensure accessibility for all.
Supervise and Support Staff: Assist in the supervision and management of the activities team, promoting a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent is required. One year of experience in a long-term care facility is preferred.
Communication Skills: Ability to read and comprehend policies and procedures, and effectively present information to various audiences.
Mathematical & Reasoning Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities and the capability to interpret a variety of instructions in different formats.
Certification: Activity Director certification.
Physical Demands:
This role requires a combination of physical abilities, including frequent standing and walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and the capacity to engage with residents in various settings.
