We have an exciting opportunity for a mid-level role as Configuration Management Specialist 2 to join our Kontron Family! This role controls the configuration of products and services at a company-wide level relating to product information and documentation, while providing coaching and training of personnel and in use of company mandated systems (such as ECR/ECO)
Writes and implements ECRs (including suggested solutions with input from Engineering), ECNs and manages the process from product inception to product end of life
Analyzes, reviews and implements engineering change activities to ensure adherence to company procedures and policies as well as configuration management best practices. This includes Engineering Change Requests (ECR), Engineering Change Orders (ECO), Engineering Change Notations (ECN)
Creates and sends contract manufacturer / vendor packages
Controls bills of materials, engineering drawings/documents, manuals, etc.
Responsible for proper documentation and execution of proposed changes
Responsible for proper approval authority of changes
Responsible for proper notification of change releases and archival of documentation
Creates ECOs/ECNs from approved ECRs
Responsible for SAP item master, material master input and output with a high level of accuracy
Issues controlled documentation and responsible for following associated processes
Chairs Change Control Board (CCB) and compiles and reports on any issues. Responsible for CCB process adherence and improvement.
Investigates and validate issues and concerns regarding configuration
Writes Deviations/Waivers and implements and manages the process from product inception to product end of life
Assists with the creation and updates of Product Work Instructions (aka Assembly Instructions) with input from Engineering
Controls documentation repository and archives
Ensures proper marking and control of Export and Compliance engineering documents and ensures adherence to ITAR and technical data requirements
Provides part number creation and documentation submission reviews
Identifies and implements process improvements as approved by management
Works closely with internal partners which includes Kontron sister companies across various time zones
Lifts SAP product flags and resets
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Requirements
Must be a US Person (US citizen or green card holder)
5+ years Document Control / Configuration Management and/or hands on experience in manufacturing engineering (or a combination of both); Bachelors Degree is a plus
Experience writing ECRs, writing deviations and assisting in the creation of product work instructions
ERP (SAP) experience highly desired
CMII certification (level 1 and level 2) preferred
Familiarity with computer software, hardware and electronics
Familiarity of ISO 9001 or equivalent such as ISO 13485, AS9100) would be helpful
MS office suite and MS Teams a plus
Status: Temporary Contract
Duration: 1-3 months (possibility of extension)
