Who are we looking for?
GHD has an exciting opportunity for Technical Director- Geotechnical with specialized expertise in geology and CAD/GIS in dams, reservoirs, levees, flood control channels, and other water storage facility projects. This position will work from our Irvine office, supporting projects in the West Region.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Geotechnical consulting in evaluations and design of dams, slope stability analysis, design of reinforced walls/slopes, seismic analysis and numerical modeling of demanding geotechnical conditions.
Seismic hazard analyses and seismic stability analyses dams in California including experience with State Division of Safety of Dams (DSOD) guidelines.
Develop dam and foundation modeling
Develop acceleration-time history records that is needed to determine the performance of the dam under earthquake and post-earthquake conditions.
Provide recommendations for liquefaction remedial measures such as stone columns and soil/cement techniques.
Lead advanced engineering analyses for geotechnical investigation projects in California and prepared geotechnical investigation reports providing the data collected, and recommendations for site-specific response spectra, liquefaction potential, liquefaction settlement, site type and seismic zonation.
Qualifications;
Minimum 20 years of relevant experience in design of dams
PE and GE registration in California required
Extensive experience with finite element and finite difference programs such as FLAC
National and international experience preferred.

Salary Range- $165000 -$248,000 based on experience
