Job Summary
:



The Shred Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for safeguarding product safety and quality while meeting Company and regulatory standards, has oversight responsibility for a continuous quality improvement program that includes quality control and quality assurance. This person is responsible for ensuring that the production of all shred process, from cheese conversion to product packaging, and distribution of products meets or exceeds all quality standards. This person also has responsibility for communicating quality results and the transfer of quality and QA knowledge to the workforce.



Responsibilities Include:





  • Ensures product safety, regulatory compliance, and compliance with company standards as stated in the Quality Assurance Manual, Laboratory Manual, and Company directives.





  • Develops, facilitates and maintains Shred Plant HACCP program, including annual review of risk assessment.





  • Review all labels, films, and packaging materials used in the Shred Plant in accordance with regulatory and Company standards and ensures adherence to all contract packaging quality requirements.





  • Supports, develops, and maintains all required Food Safety and quality policies and procedures, activities and training to ensure product quality, SQF codes, employee safety, state and federal guidelines, and FSMA program compliance are followed.





  • Supports Shred Plant management in the creation, validation, and periodic review of Shred Plant standard operating procedures, applicable work instructions, specifications, templates, and responsible for enforcement of and auditing for compliance to company standards.





  • Manage quality metric and inspections and communicate results to QA Manager and others in leadership positions, including, but not limited to daily, weekly or monthly KPI reporting to Headquarters and Corporate representatives





  • Responsible for Shred Plant PIR (Product Incident Report) Investigations, ensuring proper root cause, corrective and preventative actions, are completed, trended and sustained.





  • Responsible for Shred Plant Complaint Responses and Investigations, be proficient in GITS application to ensure proper root cause, corrective and preventative actions are completed, trended, and sustained.





  • Responsible for Shred Plant Environmental Monitoring Program, be proficient in MTS application, ensuring root cause, corrective and preventative actions are completed, trended, and providing cross functional training for technician in environmental swab methodology and program.





  • Responsible for Shred Plant Pest Control Program include meeting with contracted Pest Control Operator on regular basis and conducting trend analysis.





  • Supports Plant Maintenance, Engineering and Contractors with quality support and oversight during startups, test runs or special projects.





  • Assists in local, state, customer, third party, and federal audits and inspections.





  • Performs routine plant sanitation, GMP's, and food safety audits according to programs, incorporating customer's, Food and Drug Administration, or the State Department of Agriculture expectations to identify and resolve any quality, GMPs, or sanitation issues.





  • Facilitate cross training in GMP's and sanitation training for lab technicians, ensuring instruction and guidance is ongoing, and maintaining close surveillance over inspection skillset to ensure the success of technicians involved in the cross-training program.





  • Responsible for Shred Plant Sanitation Program, ensuring proper sanitation procedures are followed, validating sanitation effectiveness, and verifying employee trainings regarding Quality, and provides "troubleshooting" efforts in the event of sanitation system failure.





  • Provides Leadership coaching, education, and training in Quality Assurance and Food Safety training for management staff, lab technicians and applicable Shred Plant employees. Seeks assistance as needed from other Saputo training resources.





  • Supervises the appropriate tests for chemical, bacteriological, sensory organoleptic evaluation on raw materials, ingredients, and finished goods.





  • Cooperates in a cross-functional manner as a change agent with all departments within the Company.





  • Continuously drives the facility's culture toward a higher level of food safety and general health safety. Challenge status quo safety behaviors, engage in Safety initiatives and ensure safety related training is attended by all employees.





  • Supports Continuous Improvement efforts in product quality/performance and process optimization.





  • Leads by example with the Saputo Code of Ethics and actively applies the Saputo Values. This includes following Company policies, standards and specifications.





  • Engages in the typical responsibilities of a supervisor, requiring planning, evaluating, training, organizing, integrating and delegating.





  • Performs other duties as assigned as assigned.




Job Requirements:





  • Bachelor's degree in a science-based area of study and a minimum of 3-years of supervisory level experience, leading others.

  • Internal Candidates: A minimum of 5 years hands-on plant experience in the dairy plant or food industry operations, with a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.

  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices.

  • Possesses a working knowledge of sanitation systems, techniques and procedures.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.

  • Possesses understanding of the basics of change management.

  • Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs; ability to lead others through change.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Skill in organization and prioritization, and attention to detail.

  • Strong team player and leader with the ability to work across multiple functions and disciplines.

  • Ability to select, coach, develop, engage and retain a team of employees.



Pay Range:


$ 70,050 - $105,080
