Job Summary:

Manage professional staff to provide timely and accurate financial accounting, reporting and analysis to meet GAAP and statutory reporting requirements and maintain effective and efficient internal controls.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

Manage all aspects of investment accounting and reporting to provide relevant and timely information in accordance with GAAP and Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP) for bonds, mortgages, derivatives, separate account assets and other invested assets. Assume the responsibility for the development and maintenance of internal controls and procedures over investment accounting.

Review all investment accounting work papers and reports prepared by staff supporting the financial statements, exhibits and schedules for completeness and accuracy and that all regulatory reporting requests are met. Ensure that investment income and expenses are properly recorded and allocated, and that appropriate investment impairment analyses are performed. Oversee daily separate account valuation, accounting and reporting functions and provide oversight and coordination of separate account regulatory accounting.

Develop staff to research and comply with GAAP and SAP, maintain a strong internal control environment, and design/produce meaningful and accurate financial accounting reports.

Skills and Background You’ll Need:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience. Advanced degree preferred.

Experience: 7 to 10 years progressively responsible experience in all aspects of financial accounting and reporting, supervisory experience; or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience.

Professional Certification: CPA, CMA or CIA preferred.

Please note - the salary range for this role is listed below. In addition to salary, our package includes incentive plan participation and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits, as well as an initial PTO accrual of 164 hours per year. Employees also receive 11 paid holidays and 2 wellness days per year.

  • Eligibility to participate in an incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program and plan. Any award depends on various factors, including individual and organizational performance.

Salary Range:

$92,750.00 - $148,500.00
