General Laborer - Maintenance at GFL Industries in Wilmington, North Carolina

Job Description:

Safely assist Mechanics and other shop personnel in keeping the shop area clean and organized. Daily responsibilities around the bays or as directed by Supervisor/Manager in cooperation with the Maintenance Manager.



Key Responsibilities:

• In cooperation with Maintenance Manager, you are to ensure the assigned tasks are completed in a timely manner which includes, but is not limited to:
- Daily cleaning of bays, and bins etc. and outside areas around the branch.
- Daily cleaning of trucks and engines.
- Ensure that the facility and work areas are kept clean and organized.
- Clean up outside around bins and compactor while system is running.


- Cleaning of Specialty Equipment
- Must be ready to prioritize and adjust assignments accordingly to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner and minimize potential downtime.
- Work load 50% inside 50% outside


--Forklifting experience a plus but not mandatory



Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:



-Able to meet physical demands of constant movement, walking, bending, lifting, use of upper and lower extremities.


-Atmosphere could get loud at times
-Wear all mandatory personal protective equipment as assigned.
-Follow all safety procedures as outlined by the Safety Act, Applicable Industrial Regulations, Federal, Provincial, State, Municipal regulations, Health and Safety policies and procedures.
• Report all accident, incidents, near misses and hazards to supervision immediately.



Hours: 8am - 4:30 some overtime
