The Fabrication Team Lead is directly responsible for leading the shift of production operators to ensure all production activities are carried out in a safe, efficient, and effective manner.
Responsibilities
Maintains a safe working environment and helps to improve overall safety culture at Jamco
Drives compliance to all safety & Quality programs
Attend and participate in all scheduled meeting
Achieve department production goals, cost objectives, and KPIs
Lead and promote continuous improvement initiatives including engaging and training employees
Determine the root cause of manufacturing issues and develop corrective actions
Determine the root cause of safety incidents, complete investigations and follow up actions.
Work with other Team Leads to accomplish production plans by scheduling and assigning personnel; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; identifying and eliminate bottlenecks; and reporting results of the processing flow.

Ability to manage and resolve conflict among employees and drive a culture of open communication.
Observes machines and equipment in operation for malfunctions. Able to start and stop all machinery.
Performs production duties and fills-in as required to relieve employees for breaks, absenteeism, and vacations.
Review work drawings and specifications to ensure accuracy and conformance to standards prior to distributing to the shop for production.
Manage logistics to meet project demands.
Conducts training of new employees and retraining as required.
Continually monitors and assesses personnel and coaches them on ergonomics, behavior, participation, cross-training, etc.
Actively takes the role of leadership in the area of responsibility and reinforces the company's policies.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must be able to operate, understand, and transfer knowledge of all machinery and equipment
Must be able to communicate workplace hazards
Forklift certification from Jamco required
Strong reading and mathematical skills required
Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and leadership skills required
Computer literacy, Microsoft Office products required
Technical competencies in fabrication (e.g. technical drawings, blueprints, welding and fabrication techniques).
Proficiency in using hand tools, saws, shears, punch & dies, CNC machines, Folders, Press Brakes, Tube Bending equipment, etc.
Ability to fabricate and assemble parts using various machining techniques.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required
Thorough, functional knowledge of CNC routers and programming required
Intermediate computer skills: knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel) required
Experience and competency using basic measurement tools such as calipers, tape measures, and weight scales required
Competency in basic math including decimals and fractions required
Minimum of 3 years' experience in high-speed manufacturing; Familiarity with manufacturing systems
