Job Description:

AMG is seeking a highly motivated and experienced attorney with expertise in immigration law. This role will require the attorney to assist in representing asylum seekers, preparing legal filings, and advocating for clients in immigration court and before other relevant authorities. The position is for up to 20 hours per week, offering flexible working hours.


Key Responsibilities:




  • Provide legal representation to clients in asylum and other immigration-related cases.

  • Conduct detailed client interviews and consultations to determine eligibility for asylum.

  • Prepare asylum applications, including affidavits and supporting evidence, and submit them to relevant authorities.

  • Draft motions, briefs, and other legal documents for immigration court and USCIS filings.

  • Represent clients in immigration court hearings, asylum interviews, and appeals if necessary.

  • Advise clients on immigration law and their legal rights throughout the asylum process.

  • Stay up to date on changes in immigration laws, policies, and procedures.



Qualifications:




  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

  • Active license to practice law in GA.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in immigration law.

  • Familiarity with immigration court procedures and USCIS processes.

  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with clients from diverse backgrounds.

  • Proficiency in Spanish preferred but not required.

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively within a part-time schedule.
