Job Summary

The primary responsibility of the Technical Writer will be to support the Strategic Planning and Business Development department with a wide range of written materials. This is a highly visible role that works with individuals throughout the company including with senior leadership, business development, and operational subject matter experts (SMEs) to write, edit, review, and produce documents. Work products vary from contract deliverables, technical change orders, reports, proposals and white papers. Must be able to synthesize material from multiple sources into one cohesive voice and concept.

Education & Experience

Required:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
• U.S. Citizenship
• Must be able to receive a favorable Interim and adjudicated final Department of Defense (DoD) background investigation
• Experience conducting internal and external research to ensure accuracy/consistency of documentation and use of proper terminology
• Strong working knowledge or experience with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Experience writing, reviewing, and editing requirements and specifications for Federal contract
• Knowledge of Federal acquisition terms and concepts
• Meticulous attention to detail and effective professional work products
• Ability to develop templates and provide formatting/desktop publishing for work products
• Ability to create compliant, compelling responses
• Minimum of five years of experience gathering, analyzing, and composing technical information
• Minimum of five years of experience writing, reviewing, and editing requirements and specifications for Federal contracts

Preferred:

• Experience with Microsoft Teams and SharePoint
• Ability to create associated graphics, charts, tables, appendices, and other information in support of written materials
• Experience working with SMEs to develop graphic ideas and create the graphic

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct research and ensure the use of proper technical terminology.
• Interview subject matter experts to draft responses in a concise and logical manner that meets requirements.
• Translate technical information to clear, readable documents to be used by technical and non-technical personnel.
• Organize material and write descriptive copy according to established standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
• Develop, write, and edit functional descriptions, specifications, special reports, or any other customer deliverables and documents.
• Learn the business content and contract requirements. Organize work products, communicate and collaborate with team members and meet deadlines.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, etc.), analytics data, and SEO. Expert in critical thinking, problem solving, collaboration skills, and ability to present and sell solutions to various stakeholders.

*Annual base salary for Colorado, Hawaii, Washington D.C. and Washington State residents: $78,000- $100,000 depending on experience*
