A Day in the Life
The Principal Architect will be responsible for designing and architecting Java applications using AWS cloud services. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure scalable, high-performance, and secure solutions are delivered. The Principal Architect will play a key role in guiding the technical direction of projects and ensuring alignment with organizational goal.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and architect Java applications with a focus on AWS cloud services.

• Collaborate with developers, engineers, and other stakeholders to create scalable and efficient solutions.

• Lead the technical decision-making process and provide guidance on best practices.

• Ensure that architectural solutions meet security and compliance requirements.

• Perform code reviews and provide feedback to development teams.

• Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in cloud computing and Java development.

• Troubleshoot and resolve architectural issues as they arise.

• Supervise code reviews and conduct technical audits to maintain high standards of code quality.

• Document architectural decisions and provide clear communication to all stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelors degree required


• Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science , Information Technology, or a related field and 4+ years of experience

• Extensive experience in Java application development and architecture.

• Strong expertise in AWS cloud services, including but not limited to EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, MSK and IAM.

• Proven experience in designing scalable, high-performance, and secure applications.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.

• Strong communication and leadership skills.

• Master's degree in Computer Science , Information Technology, or a related field.

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification.

• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$143,200.00 - $214,800.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
