Domtar is seeking safety-oriented individuals of journeyman level to join our maintenancedepartmentat thePlymouth, North Carolina mill.The primary function of the HVAC journeymanis tomaintain equipment to keep it running smoothly, perform tests and calibrations, repair or replace components and troubleshoot equipment operational problems.Must have a personal dedication to safety, including proactive support of efforts to create a cultureof safety excellence.
If selected for consideration, you must successfully complete a selection process that may include, but is not limited to, aptitude tests, interviews, practical skills demonstration, criminal background investigation, reference verification, and pre-employment drug screening.
Domtar requires participation in a structured apprentice program. Successful applicants must be able to advance to a total of three skills (Electrical, Instrument, HVAC) within the apprentice program if they are hired. Additional skills are assigned based on mill needs. This position could possibly require rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

KeyResponsibilities:
- Perform tests and maintenance procedures for instruments used for measuring and controlling flow, level, pressure, temperature, chemical composition and other variables in manufacturing andprocessing.
- Calibrate components and instruments according to manufacturer'sspecifications.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance work and complete test and maintenancereports.
- Install control and measurement instruments on existing and new plant equipment andprocesses.
- Consult with and advise processoperators.
Required Qualifications:
- Candidates must have a two-year HVAC technical degree with two years related experience or at least five years related experience in industrial or military field.
- Must have a high school diploma orGED.
- Successful completion of technical assessment.
- Available to work varying hours that may include shift,weekends,andholidays.
- Ability to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime and respond toemergency call-ins.
- Passpre-employment background check and drugscreen.
- Wearthe requiredpersonal protectiveequipment.
- Work in industrial conditions (i.e.,warm/hot, dusty/dirty, around hazardous chemicals, noise, and heavy machinery or working at heights with proper safety training and safety protection.
- Experience in the Pulpand Paper industry.
