We are seeking an Executive Director, US Patient Services for our Market Access Team. This leader will be responsible for crafting and delivering the strategy that ensures access and reimbursement through the AstraZeneca patient HUB, patient assistance programs, and our Field Reimbursement Teams. This role reports directly to the Senior Vice President, US Market Access, and is a key member of the US Market Access Leadership Team.


What You'll Do:


  • Owns the development and execution of all patient services and field reimbursement strategies to ensure an optimal patient experience

  • Sets the framework for access and service strategy formulation and drives the team in both thought leadership and overall execution of the strategy and related tactics

  • Directs field access team leaders and members to educate healthcare providers

  • Functions as a member of the Market Access Leadership Team and is able to provide management insights

  • Partner with all senior marketing and sales leaders to collaboratively develop effective patient and access services

  • Design and development of smart and lean processes to optimize the workflows of the team as well as optimal patient services and field reimbursement coverage strategies and assessment



Minimum Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree; preferably in a relevant field (Marketing, Science, Economics or Finance)

  • 10+ years of experience in healthcare, including a pharmaceutical company role

  • Prior leadership roles in Patient Services and Field Reimbursement

  • Understanding of market access, patient affordability solutions, and healthcare delivery

  • Analytical skills including problem solving, forecasting, contract development and financial modelling

  • Proven negotiation & relationship building skills

  • Proven ability to lead and teams in a matrixed organization



Preferred Requirements:


  • An Advanced Degree (MA/MS/MBA) or equivalent experience is preferred

  • Detailed understanding of AZ business model with specific knowledge of brand team operation, brand planning, and sales model.

  • Experience with both HCP and Consumer Marketing

The annual base pay (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges from $263,040 to $394,561 Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
