(Contingent upon available funding): 16.21 - 23.54, Hourly Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Faculty Appt Period: Job Summary: The Computer Specialist will provide hardware, software, and related IT support for the College of Engineering, Architecture, and Technology (CEAT). This position requires a strong background in technical support and a dedication to customer service.We support Windows, Linux, MacOS, and mobile device platforms, and our supported applications include engineering-specific software such as ANSYS, Aspen Hysys, and SOLIDWORKS, as well as office productivity apps such as Adobe Creative Cloud and Office 365.The Specialist may also serve as an information technology consultant to other departments and units throughout the College, advising on and overseeing technology projects. The Specialist will work closely with our partners at OSU IT to ensure CEAT is compliant with university security and domain management policies and will assist in implementation of cybersecurity best practices across CEAT. The individual in this position will help ensure data protection procedures and systems are in place and effective.Contingent upon experience level, the Specialist may also mentor and train other staff, and supervisory responsibilities may be assigned, depending on departmental need.The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a passion for technology who has the communication skills to be a great team player. Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and one year of related experience OR

High school and six years related experience with requirement to receive bachelor's degree within six years of hire.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to think analytically and solve problems.

A strong sense of professionalism.

Knowledge of computer hardware and software.

Ability to work in a team or independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Information systems, computer science, or related field and five years of related experience, including hardware and software support and project management OR

High School/GED and ten years of related experience.
