Summary
The Director of Public Safety Communications and Technology for Tulane University's Police Department plans, directs, and manages the operations of the Communications Center, oversees the records division, and maintains operational oversight of all departmental technologies. This individual will be for the supervision of communications staff, management of departmental records, compliance with state and federal records laws, information technology, as well as property and evidence. The position is responsible for ensuring compliance with established institutional and departmental goals, policies and procedures, as well as compliance with policies and procedures of the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) as stated in the user agreement and cooperative endeavor agreement with TUPD. Additionally this individual will be responsible for developing strategic growth as related to communications and other technology.

POST HIRE TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Must successfully complete the following mandatory trainings, as well as obtain and retain all required certifications:
Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD)
National Crime Information Center (NCIC)
Enhanced 911 training and certification
APCO Telecommunicator I and II certification
An approved Communications Officer training course and an approved department training program
