HOURS: 7PM - 7AM
Reports directly to the applicable Business Unit Manufacturing Leader or Supervisor, provides a combination of training support to assigned manufacturing area and general production support to ensure manufacturing goals are achieved for areas assigned. Training responsibilities will be primarily in the form of "train-the-trainer" activities to coordinate training across qualified trainers (Level 1 and above) and ensure consistent training practices for new associates and associates increasing their skill levels through the pay for skills process. Supports safety, quality, production process/continuous improvement initiatives as assigned. Must possess positive attitude and excellent team skills.
Responsibilities:
Ensure associates are trained in a consistent manner to comply with all safety, quality and operational procedures.
Support and implement the train-the-trainer process in assigned areas.
Participate in identifying associates who are qualified to train and assimilate approved trainers to the training process in place to ensure consistent, effective associate training.
Conduct individual associate training in the event of an absence or shortage of qualified trainers in an assigned manufacturing areas.
Provide operational support to manufacturing Supervisor or Business Lead to support safety, efficiency, PPH, quality, and all production goals for assigned production areas.
Provide day-to-day machine operator support when production demands require, as staffing levels fluctuate due to absences or resource availability issues.
Runs machines and supports co-workers in achieving safety, quality and output objectives.
Acts as a general operations support in carrying out these responsibilities.
Assists supervision with timely updates on production output and any issues that may hinder achieving production targets.
Supports and participates in Tiered Management System updates & metric tracking, Daily Team Maintenance activities, 5S and all BDPS component team activities as required.
Supports the technicians is assigned manufacturing areas, assists with monitoring production machinery and basic troubleshooting.
Communicates quickly and effectively with technical support associates to ensure rapid response and resolution to equipment problems/machine downtime.
Assist operations leadership and engineers/technicians with project work, improvement efforts and blitzes as necessary.
Supports PM compliance by working with the PM team to maintain compliance.
Ensure product quality though accurate and timely completion of action plans to address deficiencies, DHR reviews, and rework.
Ensure accurate and timely SAP & MES transactions by monitoring inventories and addressing discrepancies identified.
Support problem resolution and assist with getting effective support from additional resources (engineers, quality, tech services, document control, tool room).
Creates and encourages a collaborative, team environment in assigned manufacturing cells. Participate in continuous improvement efforts by utilizing CI practices (KAS, Blitz's) and adhering to standard work practices. Performs housekeeping as necessary to sustain 5S standards.
Supports assigned manufacturing areas, which may change based on production demands.
When necessary, substitute for associates to provide coverage for meetings, unplanned absence, etc.
Verifies that equipment & surrounding areas are clean during the shift.
Performs other duties as the business requires.
Minimum Qualifications
H.S. Diploma/G.E.D. Required
Vocational/Technical School - Preferred
Associates Degree - Preferred
Minimum of 2 years as a Machine Operation or Technician
May be required to take a leading role, such as assigning activities to other associates who perform work that is similar or closely related to this position (less than 50% of the time)
SAP, MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel proficiency preferred
