COMPANY OVERVIEW: Mariani Premier Group is a dynamic and rapidly growing private equity-backed company in the landscaping industry. With a focus on driving sustainable growth and value creation, we are seeking an exceptional Senior Accountant of Acquisitions & Special Projects to join our finance team. This role is integral to our continued success and growth strategy, helping to seamlessly integrate new acquisitions into the portfolio of operating companies and complete special projects identified by the Company's finance leaders.

JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking an experienced Accounting Professional with a strong focus on accounting for acquisitions, revenue recognition and operations in construction or service industries to join our finance team. The position will play a crucial role in the integration of newly acquired entities into our financial reporting, systems, and processes. This role requires expertise in GAAP accounting, project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Participated in monitoring the due diligence activities pre close and the integration activities post close to identify matters that could potentially impact the ongoing accounting.
  • Assist in implementing standardized accounting procedures and controls across newly acquired entities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
  • Assist in leading the process of standing up the accounting process for newly acquired entities, ensuring timely and accurate integration into our financial reporting, systems, and processes.
  • Participate in determining the appropriate opening balance sheet for the acquired business unit in accordance with relevant GAAP.
  • Participate in calculating the Buyer's submission for the Post Closing Statement adjusting for the differences between estimated and actual values for net working capital and assumed liabilities.
  • Develop and execute project plans, timelines, and deliverables for post-acquisition accounting integration projects.
  • Champion Mariani objectives such as adherence to deadlines, delivery of robust analytics, and the tracking and reporting of key performance indicators.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including finance, operations, legal, and external auditors to ensure seamless integration.
  • Assess the accounting systems and processes of acquired entities and identify areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Provide training and support to finance and accounting teams at acquired entities on new processes and systems.
  • Work closely with external advisors and consultants as needed to support integration efforts.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of post-acquisition accounting integration projects to senior management.
  • Serve as an internal auditor and strategic financial partner for existing portfolio companies across the Mariani Premier Group.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with a strong preference for a mixture of public accounting and industry.
  • Knowledge and experience in post-acquisition accounting, financial reporting, and GAAP standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems such as QuickBooks or NetSuite.
  • Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience collaborating across departments.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and manage priorities under the guidance of the Director of Mergers and Acquisitions.

  • Strong skills and experience in working remotely with accounting and operational team members who are being asked to adopt new tasks and processes.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 30%-50%.
  • Ability to "multi-task" managing multiple projects over a period of time.
  • Confidence to work independently to identify issues, bring them to the attention of other team members, and drive appropriate changes in processes and people as necessary.
  • Ability to prioritize issues and identify solutions that address the major issues even if they are not the "perfect" solution.

SALARY RANGE: $81,000 - $124,000
