Overview:

Wolf Line Construction's non-profit, the Broadband Builders Guild (BBG) is a mission-driven organization focused on expanding broadband access by supporting the development of a skilled broadband infrastructure workforce. We are seeking an Executive Director to lead our efforts in partnering with contractors and electric cooperatives to foster workforce growth in underserved areas. The Executive Director will report to the Board of Directors and is responsible for the strategic, operational, and financial leadership of BBG, which is funded primarily through federal and state grants.

Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership: Lead the organization's strategic planning and execution, ensuring alignment with BBG's mission to support broadband infrastructure development. Work closely with contractors, electric cooperatives, and key stakeholders to identify and address workforce needs in the broadband industry.
  • Operational Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations, including workforce development initiatives, program execution, and grant compliance. Manage resources, staff, and projects to ensure operational efficiency and the achievement of organizational goals.
  • Grant Management & Compliance: Oversee the organization's grant funding strategy, ensuring effective application, reporting, and compliance with all state and federal requirements. Develop partnerships with contractors and electric cooperatives to support grant-funded initiatives.
  • Community & Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the face of BBG, engaging with community organizations, industry leaders, and government entities to promote the mission. Act as a key spokesperson for the organization in fostering relationships that drive the growth of broadband infrastructure.
  • Board Collaboration: Work closely with the Board of Directors to provide support, insights, and recommendations on policies, programs, and strategic initiatives. Facilitate effective communication between the board and the organization's staff.
  • Governance & Compliance: Ensure the organization complies with all legal and regulatory requirements, managing contracts, overseeing audits, and maintaining accurate records. Implement processes that ensure transparency and accountability in all operations.
  • Team Leadership: Inspire and guide staff to achieve performance goals. Promote a culture of collaboration, development, and accountability within the organization.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in leading a non-profit organization from its infancy or senior management role, ideally within the telecommunications, broadband, or construction industries.
  • Demonstrated success in managing grant-funded programs, including experience with federal and state grants.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse groups, including contractors, electric cooperatives, and community partners.
  • Knowledge of broadband infrastructure and workforce development preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Policy, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
