About the Role:

The Director of Accounting (Gross to Net) & SAP Implementation will have a profound impact on the organization by establishing and delivering measurable improvements in process, cash flows and operational efficiency. Contributions are expected to include:
  • Develops and recommends, in collaboration with members and procurements, the new accounting and reporting standards for the source and use of vendor funds, establishing tight controls and simplifying accounting, enhancing transparency and visibility.
  • Finance lead for the implementation of SAP including redesign of the general ledger, enhancement of the coding block to support management financial reporting, process design, system testing and support finance change management
  • Facilitate the design and financial integration of the new Human Capital Management System for Payroll; redesign the general ledger, project management for the payroll implementation including design, testing and implementation
  • Design and implement best practices to elevate strategic partnership in identified areas.
  • Drive innovation in process and technology.
  • Leading cross-functional initiatives that align financial transformation with broader business objectives.

Essential Functions
  • Accountable for the successful delivery of finance transformation projects. Foster collaboration with cross-functional teams to integrate financial transformation with other business areas.
  • Spear head the process of developing and implementing new accounting policy and standards to account for the sources and uses of vendor funds across divisions in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Manage and lead a team of 3 managers in setting finance transformation goals and objectives, ensures delivery of strategic business goals and drive operating model.
  • Partner and work cross functionally with senior leaders (Procurement, Accounts Payable, FP&A, Human Resources, Labor Relations, Legal, Payroll Wakefern Tech) for operational excellence.
  • Present recommendations to the Senior leadership team and various committees.
  • Lead and manage quarterly reviews and year-end financial audits by external auditors.
  • Enable automated Deductions management to improve cash flows and efficiency by redesigning key processes for customer discounts and other areas and implementing technology solutions, including tracking and reporting.
  • As Record to Report process lead, responsible for the design and implementation of SAP S/4 HANA capabilities supporting Finance functions in General ledger, Accounts Receivables and Accounts Payables.
  • As Member of the SAP and HCM task force collaborate with SAP COE leader, cross-functional leaders, external consultants to provide best fit technical solutions while aligning to corporate solution.
  • Design the technological landscape for Financial Reporting supporting the SAP design and implementation.
  • Support the design and implementation of the new Payroll system and be a part of the core Human Capital Management Team.
  • Subject matter experts and business process experts on WF financial processes

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • 10+ years of combined experience in CPG / Retail industry, with at least 5 years of work experience directly related to trade funds.
  • Proven track record of driving accounting and finance process innovation and improvement.
  • Expertise in business process optimization, with a history of achieving significant operational improvements.
  • Develop, mentor and lead high performing teams, provide leadership, guidance and support to team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous learning
  • Ability to lead and shape complex projects from inception to completion including change management across multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent collaboration skills; persuasive; experience working with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Effective communication and relationship management abilities.
  • Prior experience working in or driving innovation in accounting and reporting, accounts receivable, deductions management and accounts payable.
  • Prior experience with SAP and systems implementations.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Accounting, Finance and / or Project Management with CPA preferred
  • MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.

How you'll work

Hybrid schedule - work four days per week in Edison, NJ office. Flexibility to work fifth day at home
