Job Description:

The Project Accountant will work under the direction of one or more Project Managers and will be responsible for tactical and administrative support relating to financial, contractual and implementation processes for multiple solar energy construction projects. Additionally, the Project Accountant will be responsible for the proactive oversight and execution of project setup, billing, budget amendments, collections, and project financial health for ARM Group LLC's Renewable Energy Practice Area.

This role focuses on engineering and construction projects, emphasizing project setup, accounting coordination, billing, AR collections, vendor management, budget management assistance, and project health reviews. The ideal candidate will collaborate effectively with a team of multi-disciplined engineers, project managers, accounting staff, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and cost control throughout the project life cycle.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Setup projects for success in ARM's ERP system (VantagePoint).
• Setup vendors with Master Subcontractor Agreements and related documentation (e.g., insurance requirements, safety requirements, etc.).
• Ensure vendors understand and adhere to ARM's invoicing requirements. Reject pay applications that do not adhere to requirements.
• Read and understand contractual obligations (both prime and subcontractor) of construction projects and assist with the required contract administration.
• Receive and review payment applications and invoices from vendors and provide recommendations to PMs for approval or denial.
• Administer lien waivers and other contract administration requirements.
• Prepare payment applications for all design-build projects.
• Prepare change orders and purchase orders for all design-build projects.
• Assist PM's with and complete project change orders and contract amendment documentation and tracking.
• Coordinate and review vendor pay applications for approval.
• Manage project accounts payable entries and ensure timely payments within terms (or as approved by company officers).
• Provide project-related financial analyses to management.
• Provide responsive financial support and insights to Renewable Energy team Project Managers and other stakeholders to support project decision-making.
• Manage all Renewable Energy projects within the VantagePoint ERP system, ensuring data accuracy and timeliness.
• Proactively assess project health and provide course-correcting recommendations as needed.

Base Requirements:
• Minimum of 3+ years of progressively responsible financial experience in a project-driven environment.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
• Capacity to work independently and collaborate with peers when appropriate.

Preferred Requirements:
• Associate degree in project management, accounting or related field from an accredited college.
• Project accounting and/or coordination for engineering/construction industries.
• Familiarity with project management methodologies.
• Knowledge of industry-specific financial regulations and best practices.
• Familiarity with AIA pay application process.
• Experience with Deltek VantagePoint.
