Position Purpose:

The Events and Engagement Manager is key to the further expansion of our fundraising program and an important member of Sinai Chicago's Development team, reporting to the Chief Development Officer. With Development leadership, this role designs and implements year-round strategies for engaging new and longtime donors through consistent and compelling events and outreach. This position is responsible for managing the Sinai Chicago Golf Outing, future dinners and luncheons, as well as salons, receptions, and on-site tours.

Key Job Activities:

  • Plans and manages an annual calendar of events that complement and achieve fundraising and donor engagement goals in conjunction with Development leadership. Event management duties include, but are not limited to, event planning and budgeting; staffing event committees; engaging vendors; obtaining permits; recruiting and coordinating volunteers; serving as a primary point person for sponsors and attendees; and reporting on event performance and financial outcomes.
  • Serves as the event lead and project manager for key signature events and donor engagement.
  • Plans and implements an annual marketing strategy to elevate events and secure sponsorships in collaboration with other Development team members.
  • Develops and maintains long-term relationships with donors, volunteers, and other caregiver groups across Sinai Chicago to foster a shared commitment to advance fundraising efforts, conveying dedication to, and understanding of the impact of philanthropy on Sinai Chicago's mission.
  • Develops and implements plan to grow select auxiliaries as assigned.
  • Contributes to organizational planning and strategy for the Development Department.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 3-5 years of relevant development and fundraising experience.
  • Previous experience developing and implementing fundraising strategies, annual campaigns, and event management, with.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Collaborative team member with the ability to take initiative and responsibility for assigned tasks and work effectively in an outcomes-focused environment.
  • Detail-oriented, timely, and able to move multiple projects forward simultaneously.
  • Self-starter with a strong collaborative work ethic and ability to work independently.
  • Strong project and budget planning, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Positive, service-oriented, and have a demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships with a variety of different individuals and groups.
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including some evening and weekend duties. • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

These caregivers may be called upon to cover full-time or part-time caregivers during PTO events or sick leave as well as to provide supplemental coverage. Registry Caregivers are not eligible for Sinai's benefit programs with the exception for Sick-C, PPO Medical Plan, Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and non-match eligible contribution to the Sinai Health System Consolidated 403(b) retirement savings plan.
