Head of Product - Job Description

The Head of Product will report to the CEO and is responsible for guiding the development, launch, and ongoing improvement of Shelf's products and product lines.

Key responsibilities include executing on the product vision and strategy, overseeing product roadmaps, managing cross-functional teams, and driving user-centered design. Collaboration with stakeholders such as Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success is essential. Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills are critical, along with a deep understanding of market trends and customer needs.

What We're Looking For:

  • Abstract Thinker: Ability to execute product vision and strategies that are aligned with business goals, customer needs, and market trends; driving growth and innovation in the rapidly evolving world of AI.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven experience in building, leading, and mentoring diverse, high-performing product teams, fostering collaboration and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to articulate product vision and roadmaps to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment and engagement.
  • Customer Focus: Deep understanding of customer needs and preferences, with a strong track record of delivering user-centric products and experiences.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficiency in data-driven decision-making, leveraging data and insights to inform product strategies, optimize performance, and measure success.
  • Adaptability: Capacity to navigate evolving markets, technologies, and challenges, driving product innovation and staying ahead of the competition.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Demonstrated success in partnering with diverse teams, such as engineering, marketing, and sales, to deliver cohesive and effective product solutions.
  • Project Management: Strong background in planning, prioritizing, and executing product initiatives within budget and timelines, ensuring quality and consistency. Familiarity with SDLC and agile methodologies.

What You Bring:

  • 7-10 years of experience as a Product Manager and Leader in a B2B SaaS product company
  • Previously led a Product Management Team (e.g., familiarity with managing scrums), and open to being disrupted
  • Forward-looking, philosophical thinker
  • Highly intellectual.
  • Makes tactical decisions based on feedback that comes up.
  • Passionate, humbled, and energized by the pace and change of the field of AI
  • Life-long learner, with diversified interests/experience (beyond work and Product Management)
  • Has experience with and knows how to work in a founder-run company
  • Nice to have: Ex-founder background (this position reports directly to the CEO)
