The International Technology Transfer Project Manager will lead the successful transfer of technology from North America to Norican sites globally. This position demands a strategic thinker with expertise in international project management, collaboration, and cross-border technology deployment. The candidate must possess a strong understanding of both technical and operational challenges involved in transferring technology across countries while ensuring full compliance with legal, regulatory, and cultural requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage international technology transfer projects utilizing the Norican Phase Gate process, ensuring timely and successful execution within scope, budget, and timelines.
Ensure that projects align with the approved project plan, delivering agreed-upon technology transfer outcomes.
Provide regular progress updates to the Senior Vice President, maintaining transparency and accountability.
Identify, report, and manage any risks or deviations from the approved M2 document, escalating issues to the Global Steering Committee as needed.
Lead the planning, execution, and oversight of end-to-end technology transfers, ensuring that project objectives, budgets, and deadlines are met.
Collaborate effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders, including global teams, vendors, local authorities, and international partners, to ensure smooth project execution.
Oversee cross-border logistics, regulatory requirements, and operational activities related to the transfer, including customs, legal approvals, and intellectual property protection.
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to address cultural, logistical, and technological challenges.
Work closely with technical and operational teams to align goals, resolve issues, and ensure effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including data security, export controls, and international technology-related laws.
Facilitate knowledge transfer, training, and ongoing support for recipient teams to ensure successful adoption of the technology.
Maintain thorough project documentation and provide regular reports to senior leadership on progress, risks, and outcomes.
Key Qualifications:
Proven experience in managing international projects, particularly involving cross-border technology transfer.
Expertise in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., MS Project, Asana).
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to navigate complex multicultural environments.
Knowledge of legal, regulatory, and compliance issues related to international technology transfer.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities.
Strong background in risk management and problem-solving in international contexts.
Ability to travel internationally as required.
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Business Management, or a related field.
5+ years of project management experience, preferably in technology, engineering, or international operations.
PMP or PRINCE2 certification preferred.
Proven experience in project management, ideally with a focus on international technology transfer or similarly complex projects.
Business fluency in both written and spoken English.
Formal project management training (e.g., Mannaz or equivalent certification).
