This role involves overseeing the broker team's activities, developing strategies to increase sales, managing client relationships, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

Position Summary:

The Group Benefits Broker Manager will lead and manage a team of brokers responsible for selling and servicing group benefits products. The role requires a strong understanding of group insurance, leadership skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and carriers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership & Management:
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of group benefits brokers.
  • Set performance goals and conduct regular performance evaluations.
  • Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for team members.

Sales Strategy & Execution:
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve business objectives.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to create effective sales campaigns and materials.

Client Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Address and resolve client issues or concerns promptly.

Carrier Relations:
  • Maintain strong relationships with insurance carriers and underwriters.
  • Negotiate with carriers to obtain competitive rates and coverage options for clients.
  • Stay informed about carrier products, underwriting guidelines, and compliance requirements.

Reporting & Analysis:
  • Prepare regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and client satisfaction.
  • Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Report on team performance to senior management.

Qualifications:
  • 215 or 240 Health Insurance License
  • Proven experience in the group benefits industry, with a focus on sales and account management.
  • Prior experience in a leadership or management role.
  • Strong understanding of group insurance products, underwriting, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with a variety of insurance carriers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
