Job Description; The R&D Technician is responsible for reviewing product formulations, establishing preliminary flavor profiles for quotations, formalizing flavor profiles for customer samples, working hand in hand with the business development team to ensure customer satisfactory is met and providing an unmatched experience for on-site flavoring sessions with our customers.
Employee responsibilities and duties
Adhere to cGMP and SOPs
Work with supply chain and quality to qualify new suppliers
Ensures documents for flavors are up to date
Work with flavor houses for pricing, samples, technical documents, lead times etc.
Create RDSSF sheets for client signature on approved samples
Create live unit and sample retain protocol
Monitor organoleptic properties of raw materials to be added to spec sheets
Operate and maintain clean and hygienic standard of operation
Create and develop flavor samples in a timely and presentable manner
Gather and collect information from the business development team for sample creation
Pull samples from lab / Warehouse
Batch formula base
Weigh out individual?servings
Package individual servings
Create and print sample labels
Package servings for shipment
Coordinate with shipping department to ensure?delivery
Update Tickets with tracking information
Tracking for missing materials to be added to the ticket notes?
Put materials away in their place and keep inventory accurate and up to?date
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
Knowledge on cGMP's
Eligible to work in the U.S.
Ability to manage processes and procedures
Ability to manage tasks effectively
Attention to detail - evaluation of supplier documents to assess accuracy.
Organization of samples, documentation and data entry
Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required
Bachelors in food science or equivalent field (bio-chemistry, pharmaceutical science, nutrition, nutraceutical science, food technology) preferred but not required
Work Experience
1-3 years of r&d, product development or flavoring experience at a dietary supplement manufacturer, flavor house or brand.
Working Environment:
While performing the primary duties of the job, the employee is regularly exposed to various outdoor and indoor environments (i.e. general office, industrial complexes, food processing plants, semiconductor labs, clean rooms, etc., some of which can be hazardous). Temperature variances, high noise levels, and dusty environments may be encountered.
Physical demands
This position requires sitting, use of hands, talking, hearing/listening, tasting/smelling, standing, walking, bending/stooping, climbing stairs, working with allergen based materials and ability to lift up to 50lbs.
