Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY:

Plans and conducts activities concerned with the quality control and quality assurance of industrial processes, materials, and products by performing the following duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Plans and conducts the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of the assigned product or component
  • Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data
  • Establishes program to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities
  • Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records
  • Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes
  • Conducts and performs GRR and capability studies
  • Working understanding of ISO 9001:2015 preferred
  • Develop and conduct process failure modes effects analysis (PFMEA) plans
  • Experience with PPAP activities for internal and intra-company supplied parts including Component Risk Assessments, DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, and Process Validation, interact with Supplier Development Engineers for purchased components.
  • Documents data obtained during all quality activities consistent with company policies and procedures
  • Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality activities
  • Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality activities and provides recommended process improvements to management
  • Prepares reports to communicate involvement and results of quality activities
  • Prepares and presents technical and program information to team members and management
  • Directs technical and administrative workers engaged in quality activities
  • Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality codes and standards.

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field is highly desired

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE:
  • Ability to speak effectively in interpersonal situations and before groups of employees comprised of various levels of personnel, from senior executives to facility personnel
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills
  • Strong understanding of lean process methodologies
  • Intermediate level of computer skills in SAP and MS Office software (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
  • ASQ-CQE Certification Preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Candidate will be required to work in an industrial environment, which may contain hazards such as: loud noise (ear protection must be worn); air-borne dust, exposure to hazards (pinch points, rotating machinery, sharp edges, conveyors, etc.) and wear all required personal protective equipment.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and depth perception
  • Frequently required to stand and walk
  • Occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch
