Position Purpose
At DCG, we pride ourselves on making the complex simple, which has helped us create lasting relationships with our clients. As we expand our software and data solutions, we are searching for a Senior Data Scientist who is passionate about data, quantitative research, and technology. As a data scientist, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment to design, develop, and implement components of DCG's balance sheet management decision-support tools licensed to the banking industry and utilized internally by DCG consultants and analysts. The ideal candidate can communicate well with both DCG's technology team (data, development) and product team (product managers, client support). The Senior Data Scientist will be able to translate business requirements into predictive models and analytical tools, implement those solutions using DCG's technology stack, present findings to the product team using data visualization tools, and produce documentation on both the design and implementation of those models. This position requires someone who is self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and possesses a strong quantitative background and has proficient programming/development skills.
Responsibilities
  • Leveraging data science tools and techniques in analyzing large datasets to develop custom models and algorithms to uncover insights, trends, and patterns in data.
  • Developing and maintaining a clear understanding of the existing set of decision-support tools (Deposits360 and Loans360) in terms of their business purpose, current utilization, development schedules, enhancement lists/priorities, and technical foundations (e.g., data sets and tool structure).
  • Ensure sound technical and quantitative foundations for the data tools and create impactful model/process outputs that influence the value proposition of our decision-support tools.
  • Communicating effectively with the consulting team, the product and solutions group, and development resources for successfully transitioning ideas to valued business solutions.
  • Preparing white papers and articles in support of DCG tools and related methodologies. Participating in conference presentations as warranted.
Qualifications/Skills
  • A very curious mind with a passion for data and data analytics
  • Strong mathematical, quantitative, statistical, and data analysis skills
  • Experience using Python and SQL to manipulate data, build models, and support back-end production code
  • Excellent project management and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills to audiences of all levels and backgrounds (executive, business, and technical)
  • 2+ years of experience in advanced data mining, model development, and other related skills
  • Advanced degree in mathematics, statistics, data science, or other quantitative field
