Job Description:

Our client is seeking a Full-Time Environmental Regulatory Manager to support US based LNG export facility and service the global demand for North American natural gas. This Houston-based position will support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies.

The position involves occasional travel to project sites across the US.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead environmental coordination for engineering, right-of-way, and public affairs to develop applications and secure the necessary environmental approvals for project construction in a timely manner.
  • Develop and implement systems, policies, and procedures to ensure adherence to environmental permits and regulations.
  • Manage environmental data and associated databases.
  • Oversee compliance with environmental permits, legislation, and company standards.
  • Engage effectively with government regulators during the permit acquisition process.
  • Prepare and submit statutory reports.
  • Research federal and state regulatory requirements as needed.
  • Conduct internal audits of environmental management activities.
  • Review construction progress and monitor environmental impacts and compliance.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or a related discipline; alternatively, relevant work experience will be considered.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in federal and state environmental permitting, with a focus on the oil and gas sector. Louisiana permitting experience is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Capability to evaluate and clearly communicate both verbal and written technical information.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other applications as required for effective job performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the development and submission of environmental permit applications for projects, applying problem-solving, innovation, and sound judgment.
  • Secure necessary environmental permits at various stages of projects, including Natural Gas Act Section 3 and Section 7 approvals with FERC.
  • Liaise with government agencies, conduct field visits, and coordinate environmental inspections to ensure compliance.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, procurement, quality assurance, and reporting related to permitting activities.
  • Lead meetings, working groups, and individual engagements to drive regulatory compliance and successful outcomes.
  • Collaborate with management and project teams to address complex challenges and identify opportunities for process improvement
