Senior Layout Engineer - GaN

The Senior Layout Engineer:

As a Senior Layout Engineer, you will collaborate with power architecture design teams and process engineering groups, focusing on the layout of innovative new power supply topologies. This role involves working with both silicon-based technologies and emerging materials like GaN and SiC. The role will also include:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the APT process and power architecture teams to design test chips using silicon, MEMS, and wide bandgap technologies.
  • Develop block floorplans, subsystems, and chip-level layouts.
  • Modify existing product layouts or create new ones based on inputs from the APT process and power architecture teams.
  • Perform physical verification using Siemens Calibre flows, including DRC, LVS, Extraction, and EM.
  • Assist in generating and updating L-spec, PFMEA, and IOS as needed.
  • Work closely with analog design engineers to tackle complex and challenging problems.

What we need for the Senior Layout Engineer
  • Bachelors or Master in Electrical / Electronic Engineering, physics, chemistry, materials science, or other engineering disciplines.
  • Experience with power management IC and powertrain layout, including the basic process flow for designing test chips.
  • A bright layout engineer looking to lead new initiatives in GaN technology & more
  • Proven ability to lead chip layout projects from floor-planning to tapeout, and manage other layout engineers involved in the process.
  • Proficiency with Cadence and other layout tools used.
  • Open-minded problem solver, self-motivated, and highly effective in multi-disciplinary team environments.
  • Excellent communication skills.
