Job Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Assurance (QA) Automation Developer with expertise in TOSCA for a long-term contract position in Taylor, TX. This is a hybrid position with a requirement that Wednesdays and Thursdays be worked onsite in Taylor, TX

If selected, you will be part of the client's QA Automation Development team in support of automation of smoke, regression, integration and security test for the client's projects as assigned. You will be working independently and with the guidance of a Sr. Automation Developer to develop a comprehensive automation suite per application area per the overall Test Automation Framework. In addition, your duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Analyzing and understanding solution requirements, architecture, technical designs and processes to define the necessary scope of automated testing.
  • Defining automation testing strategy and communicating strategy to relevant disciplines/stakeholders clearly and appropriately.
  • Creating automation test strategy and planning, developing and establishing initial testing harness based on initial test scenarios and build detailed automated scripts per product design discussions.
  • Ensuring that automated testing is completed to agreed standards and that business and operational acceptance criteria are met.
  • Liaising with other management and IT disciplines to ensure automated testing objectives are met.
  • Participating when required in formal meetings with customers and subcontractors.
  • Reporting to management on automated testing and quality requirements/activities, identifying deviations from plan and carrying out corrective action.
  • Performing automated functional, system, integration, and regression testing.
  • Clearly communicating complex technical concepts both in written and oral manner.
  • Implementing and developing automated test practices for both web and thick client applications primarily using Selenium-JAVA and TestNG, but also Tricentis TOSCA.
  • Designing and creating test automation scripts using Selenium-JAVA, Core Java, and/or VB Script to address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug testing, or usability in preparation for implementation.
  • Working with QA & Test Management Manager, Sr. Automation Developer, and Test Management Supervisor to define strategy and process associated with implementation and maintenance of automation across all supported application areas.
  • Participating in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems that may impact the quality of the automation regression suite or overall product features.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • 2 yrs. prior work experience with Oracle RDBMS. This includes competency with PL/SQL and a general familiarity with general concepts such as relational database analysis and design as well as SQL tuning.
  • 2 yrs. prior work experience with Tricentis, qTest and JIRA
  • 2 yrs. prior work experience with TOSCA test automation tool
  • 2 yrs. prior work experience with Java based automated functional testing frameworks such as Selenium, Rest Assured for API's or core Java for process automation (Selenium expertise is strongly preferred).
  • 2 yrs. prior work experience with Java unit testing frameworks such as Junit and/or TestNG (TestNG experience is preferred).
  • 2 yrs. prior work experience with creating and running web application performance tests in either NeoLoad, LoadRunner, Apache JMeter or Tricentis (NeoLoad is preferred).
  • 2 yrs. prior work experience with general software development life cycle practices.
  • 2 yrs. prior work experience with general Software Quality Assurance/Quality Control testing techniques, standards, practices, and related technologies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Sciences, Information Systems or related field.
  • Ability to work 2 days onsite in Taylor, TX (relocation assistance not provided)
  • Must be able to work as a W2 employee unencumbered (no C2C allowed)
