The company is seeking an Assistant Financial Controller in Miami, Florida, United States for an on-site position. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on Assistant Controller responsible for overseeing all financial accounting activities.
About the Role:
The Assistant Controller will serve as the right hand to the Controller, ensuring that financial records are accurate, complete, and up-to-date. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in accounting and be proficient in Excel, and preferably 365 Business Central (formerly Microsoft Dynamics/Great Plains).
Responsibilities:
Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
Monitor and analyze balance sheets, accounts payable and accounts receivable (invoices, sales orders, collections, posting deposits, book vendor invoices, payments to vendors).
Reconcile accounts receivable and payable and ensure that all invoices are accurately recorded and paid on time.
Reconcile customer accounts.
Ensure compliance with all accounting standards and regulations.
Debits/Credits.
Experience working with fixed asset schedules (depreciation is a plus but not required).
Support Controller in all financial matters of the organization.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
Advanced knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in accounting software: Microsoft Dynamics/365 Business Central & Excel.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good Understanding in the accounting field in COGS (cost of goods)
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience with general ledger reconciliation and accounts receivable and payable management.
Ability to help prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
A background in accounting for manufacturing or distribution companies would be a huge plus.
