Job Description:

SUMMARY

The primary duties of this role are to build and maintain financial models and analyses, be a vital contributor toward the financial planning and analysis process, while help to create a unified Budgets and Forecasts for improved analysis, scenario building, and forecasting. The professional should be able to multitask, effectively and efficiently work with other functional areas to ensure that the tools and reports we provide drive improved financial and strategic business decisions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

FP&A
  • Supporting GRTC's financial and business strategies, by developing reports and analysis modeling using tools such as Excel, Power BI, Crystal Reports, etc.
  • Configuration, design, build out, and administration of a KPI dashboard.
  • Development, maintenance, analysis, and reporting of KPIs and other operating metrics and financial ratios, including identifying applicable industry benchmarks and tracking results vs. those benchmarks. Results and performance variance analyses, communicate report findings with recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaboration and contribution toward the development of annual budgeting
  • Develop and maintain quarterly forecasting/variance analysis, multi-year forecasts, long-term capital and associated reporting.

Grant Funding & Compliance
  • Oversee grant awards, to ensure documentation and reporting requirements are met on a recurring basis.
  • Coordinate regular meetings with fiduciary partners, to ensure timely spending on all available fundings.
  • Attend fiduciary governance, committee meetings, and workgroups as necessary (DRPT, NTD/FTA, etc.).
  • Work with Program/Project Managers to review available funding, in alignment with respective program budgets.
  • Keep a schedule of grant renewal dates, reporting dates, and new grant due dates.
  • Maintain supporting schedules to support proper accounting treatment of grants, in preparation and support of annual Single Audit
  • Rolling Stock Fleet and TrAMS Reconciliation. Ensure proper titles are kept on file for all GRTC Vehicles
  • Provide financial analysis and guidance to the Planning Team for Grant Writing, for both grant applications and regular reporting.
  • Monthly/Quarterly/Yearly Financial Reporting Requirements for Local, State, and Federal Financial Reporting
  • Annual review and any necessary update to GRTC's Grant Management Policies to ensure compliance with current regulations.
  • Annually update registration in System of Award Management (SAM) to manage federal grant funds awarded.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Superior Microsoft Office Suite proficiency, including an advanced knowledge of Excel and ability to create PowerPoint presentations.
  • Ability to critically analyze financial information and communicate assumptions effectively.
  • Ability to extract, organize and analyze large datasets and communicate into executive level summaries.
  • Experience with a Power BI tool a plus.
  • Experience with ERP system a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience with written and oral communication skills and ability to work with cross functional teams.
  • Effective project management skills.
  • Strong financial, analytical, and quantitative skills, and ability prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in Transportation a plus.

Education and/or Experience
  • Minimum of 4+ years of progressive experience in an FP&A or Finance / Accounting role required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics, or other relevant degree required.
  • MBA certification a plus.
  • PC proficient in Windows, Excel, Microsoft Office, Great Plains, FRX, Word, ORACLE, and other Financial Software systems.
