The Sr. Corporate Actions Associate will play a pivotal role in the daily operations of our clearing firm, focusing on the accurate post-trade processing of mandatory and voluntary corporate actions. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in processing corporate actions for a self-clearing or correspondent clearing broker-dealer, or equivalent transferable experience and knowledge of corporate actions, DTC, and post-trade settlement processes. The team member will collaborate closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to maintain operational excellence and meet regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Corporate Actions Processing and Reconciliation:
Post-trade processing of mandatory corporate actions such as dividend payments, stock splits, and mergers.
Handling voluntary corporate actions including tender offers and warrant exercises.
Perform daily position and balance reconciliation for wash accounts to ensure accuracy.
Prepare daily reconciliation for fail cash related to corporate actions and resolve issues promptly.
Reconcile stock record vs control location position breaks daily.
Physical Certificates Management:
Monitor the return of physical certificates to safeguard assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
Proxy and Prospectus Delivery Management:
Manage e-delivery vendor relationship, data pipeline, and exception reporting to ensure compliance with proxy and prospectus delivery requirements.
Reporting and Documentation:
Prepare daily operations reports and address any issues identified during the process.
Identify positions requiring segregation as fully paid and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Prepare suspense account reconciliation and identify items for write-offs as necessary.
Submit daily reports and reconciliations for review to the Position Management Lead to ensure accuracy for subsequent manager approval.
Other Duties:
Provide coaching and feedback to staff to foster professional development.
Perform daily reconciliation, investigation, and clearance of suspense accounts.
Qualifications:
Series 99 preferred.
2-3 years of experience in clearinghouse operations or related financial services industry.
Strong understanding of financial markets, products, and regulatory requirements.
Proficiency in reconciliation processes and tools.
Knowledge of Broadridge software preferred.
Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to work independently.
Proficiency in SQL, Excel, and relevant financial software applications.
