The Assistant Innovation Manager reports to the Innovation Manager for Zildjian Electronic Percussion and Musical Instruments. H/She will support the Innovation Manager and the cross-functional teams in building a foundational business in Electronic Percussion and driving expansion through new products and product enhancements. H/She will work with the Innovation Manager(s) to ensure achievement of annual and long-term Sales targets. Success in this role will be driven by curiosity, a consumer-first mentality, drive for results, a strong attention to detail, timeline management, and ability to collaborate with cross-functional partners.
Roles & Responsibilities
Build a deep understanding of the Electronic Drum set and percussion categories. Maintain a running knowledge of the competitive marketplace including configurations, specifications, and pricing
Build and maintain business performance dashboards, perform market, trend, and ad-hoc analysis under the direction of the Innovation Manager
Execute the new product set up and product change process including new product forms, BOM set up and documentation, build sheets, price lists, technical specifications, product catalogs, and digital properties; coordinate execution of sell sheets for new products and promotions
In collaboration with production/purchasing, sales, and customer service, coordinate the sample process for new products, artist samples, photography samples, sales samples, etc.
Partner with cross-functional team in development of commercialization programs and support including promotional planning, content shoot planning and coordination, asset generation, and D2C assortment planning and activation
In partnership with Integrated Marketing and Supply Chain, manage packaging development including creative briefs, sourcing briefs, graphics, compliance requirements, copy, UPC coordination, etc.
In partnership with Compliance Consultant, Engineering, Sales, and Supply Chain, coordinate and manage compliance requirements and documentation
Maintain Monday boards, track deliverables progress, and collaborate with Innovation Manager and cross-functional teams to develop and maintain detailed project timelines
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree, with 1-3 years of experience in product, category and/or brand management within the consumer products or the music industry
Naturally curious; consumer-first mindset
Excellent analytical and organizational skills; comfort level in analyzing and distilling data; ability to turn insights into actions
Excellent project management skills and ability to multi-task and track a wide variety of activities under deadline, paying close attention to detail
Strong communication skills, including formal presentations, written, and verbal communication
