JOB SUMMARY:

The Manager of Merchandising will leverage their strong analytical and consumer-centric skillset to make informed, revenue & margin-driving product assortment recommendations to the commercial team. Their ability to see product assortment voids, overlaps, and opportunities to drive efficiency will make them indispensable voices in pursuit of delivering best-in-class recommendations to our key omni-channel customers in the home textile category. Their exceptional organizational and project management abilities will add order, clarity, and confidence to American Textile Company's go-to-market process.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develops informed, consumer-first product assortments at the customer, category, brand, and channel levels to maximize omni-channel consumption, thereby driving both revenue and margin growth in accordance with organization goals.
• Deeply studies, research, and builds the organization's understanding of all relevant demographic, psychographic, and behavioral consumer profiles.
• Creates and maintains reporting on merchandising planning, thereby allowing for thorough analysis of assortment productivity, and revealing opportunities to continually optimize future recommendations.
• Develops materials for product briefings to the Product Development, Sales, Marketing, & Ecommerce teams to identify current assortment gaps & opportunities for growth.
• Adeptly balances the complex and nuanced interests, goals, and preferences among our brands, accounts, and other key stakeholders that influence assortment recommendations & decisions.
• Leverages sales, margin, inventory, and productivity reporting in partnership with Sales Analysis, Category Management, and Finance teams to make data-driven recommendations.
• Develops clear and organized product discontinuation strategies to drive both operational efficiency and enhanced productivity for our customers.
• Contributes to the creation of Sales & Marketing presentation materials that explain and sell our point of view on product assortment(s), opportunities for our customers to drive sales and margin, and American Textile Company's expertise in the home textile category.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in merchandising, marketing, business administration or related field
• 5-7 years of relevant experience in management consulting or retail
• Effective project management skills, with clear ability to see path from initiation to completion
• An enthusiastic problem solver that's excited and motivated by tackle complex challenges & opportunities to drive continuous process improvement
• Sufficient experience, self-confidence, and courage to say "no" when necessary
• Must possess a consumer first, strategy first mindset
• Strong understanding of retail merchandising basics (i.e., category management) and merchandising organizational structures and processes
• Relevant experience within a fast-paced retail business; previous experience in eCommerce or digital channels is a plus
• Exceptional cross functional collaboration skills required
• Remarkable presentation skills, proven ability to in?uence internal and external business partners and customers
• Excellent analytical skills and data crunching abilities - consumer research data, sales performance data
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments and meet tight deadlines
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills
