Role Overview: As an Estimator, you will be responsible for bidding heavy civil projects encompassing grading, paving, heavy highway construction, and other related scopes of work. We are a seeking a candidate capable of independently organizing, scheduling, and producing accurate estimates with minimal oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Review project plans, specifications, and other relevant documents to determine project scope and requirements.
Conduct thorough and accurate quantity take-offs of materials, labor, and equipment.
Prepare detailed cost estimates for bidding purposes, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to develop and refine project estimates as needed.
Identify and analyze potential project risks and provide recommendations for risk mitigation.
Participate in bid meetings and negotiations with clients and subcontractors.
Maintain accurate and organized records of project estimates, bids, and other relevant documents.
Keep current with industry trends and market conditions to ensure competitive and accurate estimates.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction estimating.
Proficient in estimating software (HeavyBid, AGTEK, MS Project or comparable software)
Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and techniques.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting bid documents and specifications.
Knowledge in building Grant chart type schedules.
Ability to manage your time efficiently.
