Staff Mechanical Engineer

Description

Our client is seeking a skilled Staff Mechanical Engineer to join their aerospace team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, specializing in equipment integration and precision manufacturing. This role involves overseeing complex aerospace projects, from initial design through to installation and testing, ensuring equipment meets precise operational requirements. We are open to candidates from parallel industries, such as industrial manufacturing or heavy equipment, who can demonstrate relevant skills and experience.

  • Equipment calibration: Ensures that gauges and sensors, particularly for temperature control, are accurately calibrated and maintained. Monitor and adjust systems to maintain strict tolerances, troubleshoot deviations, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Document calibration tests, coordinate maintenance schedules, and work with other engineering teams to seamlessly integrate temperature-sensitive equipment into broader systems.
  • Other duties assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related degree from an ABET-accredited program or a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or related Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program and complete the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
  • Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering may be substituted for 1 year experience.
  • 3 years of mechanical engineering experience, consulting preferred.
  • Experience with P&IDs: Proficiency in reading and interpreting Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) to ensure proper equipment integration, control systems setup, and process flow within the facility.
  • Successful completion (i.e. passing) FE or EIT preferred.
  • Strong knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work methodically and analytically in quantitative problem-solving and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
  • Proficient in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Strong computer skills include AutoCAD, BIM (Revit), 3D Rendering Programs, hydraulic analysis, and HVAC analysis programs.
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
