Job Description:

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Quality Engineer to join our custom automation team. The ideal candidate is a proactive and enthusiastic individual who will lead quality engineering initiatives to enhance mechanical design quality, streamline engineering processes, and reduce rework through effective corrective actions. This role focuses on managing internal product quality and addressing customer concerns to ensure our automated systems meet the highest standards of quality and safety, exceeding customer expectations.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Verify the accuracy and completeness of mechanical engineering designs and bills of materials (BOMs).
  • Review and implement engineering design checklists to adhere to established standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to address quality issues, documenting problems for prompt resolution.
  • Organize meetings with cross-functional teams to review and resolve quality concerns in a timely manner.
  • Analyze customer feedback to develop written corrective and preventive action plans, utilizing checklists and root cause analysis to minimize recurring issues and reduce rework costs.
  • Review, create, and implement design, debug, and factory acceptance test (FAT) checklists or procedures to identify potential quality gaps.
  • Participate in design review meetings, providing insights and recommendations on quality and reliability.
  • Engage in internal and external FAT processes to ensure machines meet customer specifications prior to shipment.
  • Conduct risk assessments for automated robotic cells to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related quality field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in product quality within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and leadership skills.
  • Experience in problem-solving methodologies.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Preferred experience in industrial or OSHA safety.

Working Conditions:
  • Combination of office and manufacturing environments, including exposure to moving mechanical parts and potentially loud equipment, as well as a variety of non-hazardous and hazardous chemicals and airborne particles.
  • Responsibilities include monitor viewing and data entry.
  • Interaction with internal and external customers.
  • Travel may be required up to 25%.
