Job Description:

Owner-Operator Model: Step into a transformative role that combines high-level operational leadership with an equity-driven co-owner model. As a General Manager & Investor, you will invest personal capital into the hotel, becoming a co-owner with a substantial stake in its success. This model aligns your financial interests with the hotel's performance, fostering a strong commitment to operational excellence and profitability.

In this role, you will oversee daily operations, make strategic decisions with autonomy, and leverage your entrepreneurial insight to drive the property's growth. This unique position blends strategic oversight with hands-on management, enabling you to shape the hotel's future while directly benefiting from your financial investment. This co-level partnership model emphasizes aligning interests and effective delegation, allowing you to achieve long-term success and impact.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational Leadership: Serve as the General Manager, overseeing all hotel operations, including guest services, staffing, maintenance, and vendor management. Ensure smooth daily operations while fostering a culture of hospitality excellence and operational efficiency.
  • Sales & Marketing Support: Oversee sales efforts and collaborate with external partners or third-party vendors to maximize occupancy and revenue. Work with DHG to develop a commission-based sales model, promotional strategies, and marketing initiatives that drive business growth.
  • Strategic Partnership with DHG: Foster a collaborative partnership with DHG (Desai Hotel Group) through ongoing communication and strategic alignment. Although you will act as an independent co-owner, you will report back to DHG for guidance and support. DHG offers oversight and access to resources for performance optimization, all while waiving management fees. This relationship ensures you benefit from DHG's expertise and support while maintaining autonomy in managing the property.
  • Performance Tracking: Utilize OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) to measure operational progress and ensure alignment with company-wide goals. Regularly assess key performance indicators to maintain accountability and drive continuous improvement.
  • Autonomous Decision-Making: As an investor and GM, you will have the autonomy to make key decisions related to hotel operations, staffing, and vendor contracts. This includes the ability to hire, replace, or negotiate with service providers to ensure optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Financial Management: Leverage your financial acumen to manage the hotel's P&L, budget, and financial strategy. Implement cost-saving measures and ensure consistent profitability, while making sound investment decisions that benefit both the property and your personal stake. Collaborate with DHG to gain valuable partner support, ensuring you have the resources and guidance needed to achieve financial success and operational excellence.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications are advantageous.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years in senior hospitality management roles, with a strong focus on strategic and financial oversight.
  • Skills:
  • Proven experience in hotel management, with a track record of operational success.
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to make sound investment decisions.
  • Proven expertise in developing and executing sales strategies, implementing marketing initiatives, and leading teams effectively.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a commitment to driving growth and profitability.
  • Ability to work autonomously while maintaining collaborative relationships with strategic partners.

Investment Evaluation Process:

As part of the selection process, potential partners will need to demonstrate their financial commitment to the partnership. This includes sharing their personal financials and identifying the source of potential investment capital. This step ensures that partners are ready to invest and aligned with the long-term goals of the property.
