Job Description:

VP of Programs

This position leads the overall program service quality,child safety, and continuous community development of programs for the organization. Reporting is directly to the Chief Operations Officer.You will bring leadership and management to an entire team designated to support the programs of BBBS Broward.

Specific responsibilities include:

Ensures a high-level of proficiency and skill in applying child safety and risk management knowledge, policies, and procedures throughout all aspects of job functions.

Responsible for the development, implementation and constant quality control of the sequence of program service delivery components to ensure that client needs are optimally addressed through management, oversight and empowerment of program service staff team members.

Establishes community partnerships to advance program expansion for BIG Pride, Bigs with Badges, Mentoring Children of Promise, Big Futures, and Bigs Inspiring Scholastic Success.

Responsible for the completion of quality assurance checks to ensure the compliance with National and Local Standards and Policies. Brings any discrepancies in service delivery to the immediate attention of the CEO for corrective action.

Develops a plan for match goals:to increase matches, children served, address retention and keep to a minimum negative match closure and overall match closure rate.

Works with HR to determine effective recruitment target strategies to fill need gaps.

Oversees director/managers of Programs (their teams include Program Specialists and Customer Service Specialists).

Submits State of Florida funding reports, oversees individual Match activity, approves volunteers according to National and Local Policy and Procedures, all match recommendations by team members, and audits all case files in Matchforce to ensure compliance for monthly and quarterly matches, terminations and annual reviews.

Oversees the Director/Manager of Partnerships, helping him/her to develop their annual strategic plan and goal targets to expand community partners and site-based programs to recruit more volunteers and enhance fund development opportunities for the agency.

Serves as a member of the agency's leadership team and participates in the annual strategic plan development, and coordinates and executes the plan to meet growth goals.

Attends all Board of Director meetings to deliver the agency Program report.

Develops trainings and onboarding procedures to ensure compliance with BBBS of America Standards and meet performance criteria of the Agency.

Develops and maintain a complete manua lof service policies and practices.

Assists CEO and the Board in an on-going evaluation of program and services.

Works with Human Resources on hiring, supervising and terminating the professional program staff, and overseeing an appropriate process of staff supervision and regular evaluation.

Collaborates with Director/Manager of Programs, CFO and Development team to prepare proposals and reports for various grants.

Maintains an awareness and focus on creating visibility within the community and network with other Social Service Agencies.

Cooperates with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America agencies to assist in mutual growth.

Works on a cooperative basis with other community agencies and organizations.

Performs other agency-related duties and special projects as assigned by the CEO and COO to include appearances at events.

Leads, manages, coaches and provides performance feedback to the team throughout the year.

Travel can vary - anticipating 20% of work time but adding in events and special appearances.

Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, RELATED wORK EXPERIENCE, Skills & Knowledge

Education Level:

Bachelor's Degree in relevant areas to execute the platform of the position (i.e., social work, career or mental health counseling, public health, public policy, psychology or other community strengthening related field) is required. Master's Degree is preferred. Equivalency reviewed.

Years of Related Work Experience:

Eight to Ten (8-10) years of related work experience with non-profit program services, case management, community client support or similar. Three to five (3-5) years of department leader/managerial experience is required. Equivalency reviewed.

Ability to understand community organizations (administratively, organizationally and their leadership).

Ability to work effectively with partners, professionals, staff and Board of Directors alike.

  1. Use time effectively, work independently, focus on details, adapt to shifting needs, and position and promote opportunities.Proficiency in technical areas such as Microsoft Office: Sharepoint, Word, Outlook, Teams, and Excel.
  2. Proficiency with CRMs, databases and technology (such as Matchforce/Salesforce and Dialpad or similar technology) is required.
  3. Unquestionable personal code of ethics, integrity, diversity and project a professional image of trust.
  4. Discretion to handle confidential information.
  5. Other duties as assigned.
