Job Description:
We are currently looking for a talented individual to serve as a Drywall Estimator for our growing team. This individual will play a pivotal role in assessing project costs, preparing bids, and serving as a mentor to our growing team.
Key Responsibilities:
Produce complete and detailed estimates each requiring unique attention to detail and extensive communication with the project teams
Create proposals with detailed specific clarifications, inclusions and exclusions
Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and materials pricing
Read and interpret bid documents, construction plans, schedules and specifications
Provide constructability comments and creative construction alternatives. Attend architect and owner meetings for review of costs and ideas to bring projects in on budget
Handle multiple project estimates on tight deadlines
Lead, with assistance from multiple resources, the development of construction cost estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work.
Maintain and update department database with current and accurate pricing from suppliers through direct contact, sales brochures, price lists, industry data, etc.
Review design options as part of a project team to find solutions based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials.
Track project data for historical productions and costs
Determine labor and construction equipment costs
Assist jobsite staff with estimates after bid award
Maintain good relationship with suppliers and subcontractors
Supervise and train estimating staff
Foster Teamwork between all departments
Reflect honesty, integrity, consistency, positivity, and patience in all aspects of responsibility
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Construction Estimator, with a focus on drywall estimates for commercial construction projects
Strong proficiency in Building and Construction estimating software and tools
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently.
Solid interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Thorough understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry practices
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in estimating and documentation
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
General knowledge of construction principles, codes, and processes
