Position Overview:

We are seeking a Corporate Fleet Purchasing Specialist to manage the operational aspects of procuring maintenance parts and equipment for our corporate fleet, which includes semi-trucks, trailers, forklifts, and related parts. This role will ensure timely ordering, supplier coordination, and delivery to minimize fleet downtime. Working closely with the Director of Purchasing, you will focus on operational purchasing while supporting larger procurement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fleet Maintenance Procurement:
  • Place orders for maintenance parts and supplies for semi-trucks, trailers, forklifts, and other fleet equipment.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of parts to reduce downtime and maintain fleet operations.
  • Maintain detailed records of purchases, inventory levels, and delivery schedules.
  • Fleet Equipment Purchasing:
  • Assist in procuring new trucks, trailers, forklifts, and additional equipment as needed.
  • Adhere to procurement processes, ensuring orders meet company specifications and budget guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Purchasing on major equipment acquisitions.
  • Operational Purchasing:
  • Prepare purchase orders, monitor order status, and confirm delivery timelines.
  • Communicate with suppliers to resolve discrepancies in orders, shipments, and deliveries.
  • Maintain accurate procurement documentation, including invoices, delivery receipts, and order records.
  • Compliance & Reporting:
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with internal policies and guidelines.
  • Assist in compiling reports on procurement activities, cost tracking, and budget adherence.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required; an associate degree or coursework in Supply Chain Management or a related field is preferred.
  • 2+ years of purchasing experience, preferably within fleet, logistics, or equipment management.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in tracking orders and inventory management.
  • Familiarity with procurement processes and ability to follow established protocols.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word); experience with procurement or inventory management software is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Bi-Lingual
