The Development Manager will manage Wellroot Family Services' efforts to connect major donors and corporations to our mission. A successful candidate will have a passion for fundraising and connecting people and community resources with Wellroot toward the goal of ensuring every child has a loving, compassionate, and nurturing home. The position reports to the Director of Development and plays a critical role in helping the development team meet annual fundraising goals, while supporting the strategic objectives of the organization.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with the Director of Development to align major gifts and corporate partnership efforts with overall fundraising goals.
Individual Donors
Develop and implement a moves management system to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio that includes major donors and planned giving prospects.
Manage a portfolio of 30-50 individual donors, focusing on securing 4-6 figure gifts.
Conduct prospect research to identify potential major donors and develop personalized cultivation and solicitation strategies.
Develop and implement a volunteer guild to engage key donors and community leaders.
Provide regular reports to the Director of Development on major gift activities and outcomes.
Create and manage a retention and acquisition strategy to leverage the Fostering Success Tax Credit.
Corporate Partners
Develop and implement a comprehensive plan to engage corporations in volunteerism, sponsorships, employee giving, and the Fostering Success Tax Credit.
Manage a portfolio of 20-30 corporations, cultivating and stewarding relationships to secure financial support and other resources.
Develop tailored proposals and presentations for corporate partners.
Coordinate with the Community Engagement and Marketing teams to create opportunities for corporate involvement and recognition.
Track and report on corporate engagement and funding metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of strategies.
Prepare and deliver presentations to represent Wellroot Family Services to individual donors, churches, and community groups
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree and 3-5 years in non-profit development experience, ideally with a focus on major gifts and/or corporate partnerships
Preferred experience working in non-profits supporting children, youth and families, or faith-based organizations
Proficiency in using CRM or donor databases, preferably DonorPerfect, and ability to maintain electronic donor and prospect files
Strong skills in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to convey information and opportunities effectively and passionately
Ability to compile statistics and measure program performance
Collaborative, flexible, amiable, & willing to work as a team player
Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational, and effective time management skills
Working Environment:
Willing to travel occasionally throughout the Greater Atlanta area and North Georgia to meet with donors. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing essential job functions.
