This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with the President and play a pivotal role in shaping our sales strategy without the pressure of directly contributing to individual sales.

Role Overview:

The Head of Sales will be responsible for building, leading, and training a high-performing sales team, ensuring they meet and exceed business objectives. This leadership role will involve strategic oversight, mentorship, and process improvement, rather than direct sales contribution. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with a proven track record of managing sales teams in the logistics or freight forwarding industry, and someone who can collaborate effectively with the President and executive team to drive the company's growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, train, and lead a successful sales team to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies, processes, and best practices to optimize team performance.
  • Provide continuous coaching, guidance, and support to the sales team, ensuring their professional development and success.
  • Collaborate closely with the President and senior leadership to align sales strategies with overall business goals.
  • Establish key performance metrics and conduct regular performance reviews for the sales team.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to ensure the team remains competitive.
  • Foster a positive and motivating work environment that encourages collaboration and success.
  • Act as a key liaison between the sales team and other departments to ensure smooth communication and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in sales management, preferably within the freight forwarding or logistics industry.
  • Proven success in building, developing, and leading sales teams.
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and executives.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to implement processes that drive performance.
  • A deep understanding of logistics, freight forwarding, and supply chain operations is a plus.
