Job Description:
The Senior Advanced Engineering Technician will act as a leader and mentor to new technicians in the support of engineering activities such as designing, testing, checking-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices or specialized test equipment.
This may entail performing the following:
Interprets complex engineering drawings, diagrams and schematics, and understand the necessary interfaces
Performs complex system level troubleshooting to component level
Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and troubleshooting functions
Lays out, builds, calibrates, adjusts, installs and maintains equipment, components, devices or systems

Not just knowing that the piece failed but why it failed and help with corrective action
Really seeking someone who can handle all of this with minimal supervision after a training period
All related to Torpedo system development. Much of the equipment is related to complex windows-based test equipment for those torpedo systems.
The test systems work on circuit cards that go into the torpedo system.
Run a DMM, O-scopes, Power supplies - they should know what these are easily.
