The ideal candidate would have an entrepreneurial and inventor spirit to learn and develop new applications for our instruments as well as think outside the box to execute an experiment. A passion for science and how it can be used to discover, invent, and learn is a must.
Responsibilities include: • Pre-sales and post-sales technical support of spectroscopic products • Assisting sales and service in their interactions with prospects and existing customers • Running prospect samples and writing analysis reports • Performing demonstrations and customer training at the HORIBA facility or in the field • Writing application notes and technical articles • Giving scientific and sales presentations at events and meetings • Attending trade shows to provide technical support • Discovering and developing new applications for our instruments
Requirements • M.S. Degree or PHD in chemistry, biophysics, physics, materials sciences/engineering, or other related scientific field • Knowledge of spectroscopic instruments and techniques such as Raman, Fluorescence, FTIR, and photoluminescence is preferred • Must be willing and able to travel up to 20% of the time, including international trips • Must be an effective communicator both verbally and in writing • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision • Excellent interpersonal skills • Positive, proactive thinker with great attention to detail • Strong analytical skills
