Responsible for supporting business operations by ordering products or materials, processing goods receipts and invoice receipts, and scheduling delivery appointments for inbound containers. Duties include maintaining relationships with suppliers, vendors, carriers, customers (both internal and external), placing orders for products based on current inventory needs, tracking shipments from manufacturing locations to company warehouses, and processing the receipt and payment of those goods.
Position Duties and Responsibilities
Purchasing. Manages purchase orders, monitors levels of indirect inventory, and maintains purchase records. Performs vendor research and selection to enhance profitability, reduce operating cost and increase efficiency. Works with receiving operators to compare deliveries with purchase orders and resolve discrepancies. Assists the Purchasing Manager in the operation of the department.
Accounts Payable. Receives product shipments into our system and processes for payment. Works closely with Accounts Payable to ensure timely payment of invoices.
Logistics. Tracks import containers and schedules delivery to warehouse locations. Manages schedule for delivery and receiving of containers to avoid additional charges. Works closely with Warehouse locations to control sub-contractor charges.

Integrates team efforts across work team. Understands available resources, and utilizes those resources when appropriate.

Minimum Requirements:
Education and Experience Required
High school diploma or GED, Associate's degree logistics, supply chain management or business is preferred.
Two years' experience in a purchasing position.
Accounting experience is highly desired, but not required.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required
Demonstrated knowledge of purchasing, inventory control, accounts payable and supply chain management processes.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize daily activities to meet department needs.
Above average computer skills, highly proficient in the use of Excel. SAP experience is highly desired, but not required.
Demonstrated ability to make decisions and multi-task in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities.
