The Laboratory Technician II performs testing of basic components and systems in accordance with engineering specifications, procedures and acceptable industry standards in support of senior technicians.
Responsibilities
Use blueprints and drawings to design sheet metal components and general assemblies.
Apply standards-based methods for empirical testing to evaluate assigned problems.
Apply the basics of air flow measurements and computations including temperatures (dry bulb, wet bulb, dew point, relative humidity) and pressure incorporating temperature relationships to test setup and execution.
Setup, adjust, and change test samples and setups for testing and perform the required testing in accordance with engineering specifications or defined test practices.
Collect, analyze, interpret, summarize, and document data and information gathered during testing.
Operate, maintain, and repair test equipment, instrumentation, and systems in accordance with engineering specifications or defined test practices.
Use of hand tool including welding and brazing tools.
Demonstrate an understanding of how to operate computer systems for data acquisition, recording test results, project status reporting and to manage test documentation, records and reports.
Manage electronic communications and assigned tasks and task documentation.
Demonstrate an understanding of how to manage electronic communications and test and project documentation.
Provide regular verbal and written reports summarizing project results and conclusions to project leaders.
Write reports covering test conditions, procedures, results, conclusions, and recommendations.
Works under direct supervision of department leadership with occasional independence on projects in scope.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED, Secondary School Diploma, etc.).
2+ years of experience in similar job function or experience with specific products job relates to, performing service and/or installation of products within customer's application.
Understanding of equipment assembly, basic electrical wiring, and basic product system maintenance and repair.
When applicable, experience with driving and operating a lift truck OR ability to obtain a Forklift license within six months of hire if needed.
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficient computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant software such as MS Office Suite.
Demonstrated ability to work well with others is a matrix team environment.
