Job Description:
Company Overview A privately owned Custom Store Fixture and Millwork manufacturer located in Philadelphia, PA, is seeking an experienced
Engineer specializing in wood and metal product development. This is an
onsite position with no remote option.
Job Responsibilities
Develop complete documentation packages, including:
Customer Shop Drawings
Production Assembly Drawings & Details
Drawings for Special Buyouts (e.g., metal, glass, electric components)
Bill of Materials (BOM) & Product Specifications
Plate Drawings for Machining Parts
Installation Drawings
Collaborate with Project Managers and Customers to review designs and determine optimal manufacturing methods.
Conduct research on project-related issues and products.
Create strategic plans and prioritize drawing completion.
Adapt to changing project demands, deadlines, and priorities with analytical problem-solving skills.
Communicate effectively with the production floor through detailed documentation.
Qualifications
Experience: 3-5+ years in cabinet construction, store fixtures, and casework.
Software Skills: Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, knowledge of wood optimization software (e.g., Cut Rite or equivalent).
Technical Knowledge:
Extensive experience with engineered wood panels, high-pressure laminates, and edge banding.
Familiarity with European hinges, drawer slides, and KD systems.
Knowledge of panel processing equipment and CNC technology.
General understanding of metal details, gauges, and construction techniques.
Additional Skills:
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a metric environment and with the 32mm system for panel processing.
Hands-on shop experience is a plus.
Benefits
Base Salary: $60,000 - $95,000 (based on experience and skills)
