The State of Connecticut Judicial Branch is seeking a Maintenance Service Worker I to perform custodial maintenance of courtrooms, administrative offices, lavatories, and related facilities including: wash walls and windows; dust, mop, sweep, scrub, wax and buff floors; collect and dispose of rubbish and trash; perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs to buildings and equipment; replace loose floor tiles; spot patches and paint; attach shelving; move furniture; put up bulletin boards and pictures; operate hand and power equipment; perform routine grounds care, e.g. cutting grass, shoveling snow; help a skilled worker by passing tools, carry or lift materials and run errands; may operate motor vehicles; perform other related duties as required.

This position will be assigned to the Hartford Juvenile Residential Center, as such it is considered hazardous duty for retirement purposes.

Salary Range: $43, 900 - $55,068/year - plus State of Connecticut benefits.

New employees begin at the minimum. The starting salary for existing state employees may be higher than the minimum, in accordance with existing Judicial Branch policy.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

Minimum Qualification: Any combination of education, experience or training which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties listed above.

Special Requirement: Candidates may be required to possess and maintain a valid CT Motor Vehicle's Operator's License.
