Job Summary:

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for conducting necessary inspections and ensuring the conformity of aircraft, components, and other products in accordance with the Certificated Repair Station (CRS) manuals and regulatory standards. This role requires compliance with all applicable regulations while working independently, with minimal supervision, based on training and individual capabilities.

Qualifications:
  • Requires High School diploma or equivalent reading, writing, and math abilities.
  • 5+ years' experience in a Repair Station or Military/Commercial equivalent.
  • Must have experience returning aircraft to service.
  • Proficiency in the use of inspection aides, test equipment and techniques to determine quality of airworthiness.
  • Ability to assist, and to provide training and guidance to Inspection staff.
  • Effective computer skills; Microsoft Office software and other company and discipline specific software applications.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability and willingness to work extended hours, when needed.
  • Mastered all Quality Control inspectors' essential duties and responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all work complies with Federal Aviation Regulations, the Repair Station Manual (RSM), Quality System Manual (QSM), OEM specifications, and industry standards.
  • Perform assigned inspections and conformity checks on aircraft and products.
  • Approve aircraft, components, and products for return to service.
  • Stay proficient with inspection tools, test equipment, and techniques to assess airworthiness during maintenance, repair, or alterations.
  • Maintain current knowledge of FAA regulations, Airworthiness Directives, manufacturer bulletins, maintenance and engineering manuals, service letters, and programs.
  • Assist the Receiving Department by inspecting incoming materials, parts, and supplies, ensuring proper certification routing for aircraft records.
  • Evaluate the airworthiness of subcontracted work performed outside the repair station.
  • Conduct Preliminary and Hidden Damage Inspections, documenting results as outlined in the RSM and QSM.
  • Ensure unserviceable parts are tagged and identified to prevent reuse.
  • Accurately complete FAA Form 337 and/or maintenance releases.
  • Verify that inspections meet the required engineering standards, regulations, and manuals.
  • Perform thorough aircraft document audits to ensure paperwork is complete before returning aircraft or products to service.
  • Maintain a safe, clean work environment in line with company standards.
  • Complete timekeeping records and required documentation for all actions performed.
  • Fulfill all initial and recurrent training requirements on time.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
